Our Services
Timber Framing & Bespoke Carpentry
We design and build timber-framed buildings across a wide range of architectural contexts. From historically informed oak frames to clean, modern structures in Oak, Douglas Fir, or Larch, our work is guided by context, proportion, and material.
From design development through to making and site assembly, our timber frames are carefully planned to suit their setting, scale, and architectural intent.
Our frames are traditionally jointed and made by hand in our workshop, rather than produced using CNC machines. This gives us close control over proportion, detail, and fit, allowing each structure to be carefully resolved for both traditionally informed and contemporary buildings.
The carpenters working with WoodWorks bring experience across residential, commercial, and historic projects, enabling us to approach new-build houses, extensions, sunrooms, and other timber-framed structures with confidence and consistency.
Frames are made in our workshop near Kirriemuir, Angus, and assembled on site across Scotland.
We design and build timber outdoor structures that support everyday use of external spaces, from garden rooms and pergolas to covered seating areas and outdoor classrooms.
Each structure is planned with the same care as our larger buildings, considering setting, scale, and long-term performance.
Working primarily with Oak and other durable timbers, our outdoor structures are designed to sit comfortably within their surroundings and weather naturally over time. Material choice, proportion, and detailing are considered from the outset to ensure each structure is well suited to its surroundings.
Smaller structures can be supplied as carefully prepared kits for self-installation, or we can manage fabrication and installation as a complete package. Components are prepared in our workshop and supplied either for self-installation or assembled on site as part of a complete build.
Alongside our timber framing work, we undertake bespoke joinery and carpentry as part of larger projects or as standalone commissions.
This work often forms part of a wider build, where joinery needs to sit comfortably within the structure as a whole.
Our carpentry work ranges from hardwood staircases and balconies to decking and other built-in features, each designed and made to suit the structure it belongs to.
As with our frames, proportion, material choice, and detailing are considered from the outset to ensure the finished work is cohesive and durable.
If you’re considering a bespoke carpentry project and would like to discuss options or suitability, we’re always happy to offer clear, practical guidance.
