A well designed and crafted timber framed building brings warmth and beauty into any space. Our primary framing material is Oak, sourced from sustainable and well-managed forests. Oak’s timeless beauty is a great choice for framing. Strong, durable, with stunning grain patterns, maybe medullary rays or cat’s paw knots that give the timbers a glorious figure. Features that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

We can finish the timbers in the workshop in various ways to suit your taste. Some like a clean, planed finished, with crisp square edges. Another option is to brush the timbers in the workshop. This gives the timber more texture than a planed finish. Leaving the bandsaw marks on timber is part its story from tree to structure.

We also use Douglas Fir and Larch to create exquisite buildings. With their reddish/pinky grain, these timbers, especially with a planed finish, sit wonderfully in a contemporary context. Working particularly well with stainless steel flitch plates and wires, these softwoods can be an excellent choice for your project.
